Year 3 and Year 4 students have been investigating musical instruments. They began by looking at the different categories of instruments and how sound is made on traditional instruments. Then they did a “deep dive” into how those instruments are constructed, what materials are used and the similarities and differences between them. Finally, in the last few weeks of term, these clever and creative children made their own instruments! They completed a Design Brief to plan the process, built their instruments with recycled materials and then evaluated the problems and successes of the whole process.
